Waitahora Homestead and Park:
“Typical of a large Hawkes Bay 1950s country garden”.
Trustee John White oversees a programme of reforming, modernising, and replanting of quality trees, including Rhododendrons that are adaptable to changing climate conditions.
Large mature trees form the framework and backdrop to a sweeping lawn, with colourful shrub and flowers beds at their peak in Spring.
Adjacent to the garden is a large 3 ha Park with impressive collection of mature exotic trees.
An ardent supporter of Pukeiti Trust, Founder May McRae requested that some proceeds from the farm be directed to Pukeiti projects.
